The Bride is Getting Ready, Part 2: Preparing for Purity

(Esther 2:1-18)

 

Heaven is getting ready for a wedding:

• Jesus is the Bridegroom
• We, the Church, are His Bride
• We are betrothed to Him

Our job on earth is to get ready here to live with Him forever there!

Our call to purity:

I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy.  I have betrothed you to one husband, to Christ, that I might present you as a pure virgin to Him.  (2 Cor 11:2)

Jesus loved the Church, and He gave Himself for us—to make us holy, cleansing us by the washing with water through the Word.  So that He might present us to Himself as a radiant church, without spot or wrinkle, or any other blemish, but holy and blameless! (Eph. 5:25-26)

 

Preparing for purity:

1. The atmosphere that produces purity

Esther was taken to the king’s palace and entrusted to Hegai, who had charge of the king’s harem. (Est. 2:8)

• Separation
• Focus

 

2. The attitude that produces purity

When the turn came for Esther to go to the king, she asked for nothing other than what Hegai, the king’s eunuch who was in charge of the harem appointed.  And Esther won the favor of everyone who saw her. (Est. 2:15)

• Humility
• Preparing for purity

 

3. The agents that produce purity

• The Holy Spirit
• The Blood of Jesus
• The Word of God
• Apostolic & Prophetic Ministries
• The Family of God

 

What would happen?

Now the king was attracted to Esther more than to any of the other women, she won his favor and approval.  So he set a royal crown on her head and made her queen.  And the king gave a great banquet.  He proclaimed a holiday throughout all the provinces and distributed gifts with royal liberality. Est. 2:17-18

 

When will the wedding be?

 When our Bridegroom-King has to search no further for His love match!
